Gayle Geary – Board President, Nonprofit Marketing ConsultantGayle has more than 30 years experience in marketing, marketing research and advertising. Gayle has directed strategic planning for a multitude of clients including Fisher-Price, the San Francisco Chronicle, Fetzer Vineyards, Morrison & Foerster, Fireman's Fund, Delta Dental for AARP and McRoskey Mattress Company. Her non-profit affiliations include the Math inquiries Project, Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, Women's Initiative for Self-Employment, and LightHouse for the Blind. She is a volunteer with the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center's Kol Haneshama program at the Jewish Home. Aurèle Carlat, MBA – Board Vice-President, Health/Aging ConsultantAurèle worked for over 20 years in the healthcare industry, holding executive positions with United Behavioral Health (UBH), a United Healthcare Company, Stanford University Medical Center, and Peabody Consulting. She has served on the Board of Directors of VSP, Hospice by the Bay, Women Healthcare Executives and the San Francisco School. She also worked as a volunteer caregiver for The Zen Hospice Project from 2001-2005. Aurèle has a strong commitment to healthy aging and is a trained yoga instructor. Eva Auchincloss – Board Secretary,Eva Auchincloss was the founding Executive Director of the Women's Sports Foundation which was primarily responsible for the enforcement of the Equal Education Act of 1972 as it applied to sports for women. Among her other service to non-profit organizations she is the past Chair of the Board of San Francisco's International Diplomacy Center, Life Plan Center and the Presidio School of Management. David Berg, MBA – Board Treasurer – Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services David has more than 30 years experience in strategy, business development, board development, marketing, and operations in health care, senior services, and housing. David’s prior experience includes service as a consultant for Booz, Allen and BDC Advisors, LLC and as an executive with Catholic Healthcare West. Mary Moore Gaines – Immediate Past President, Rector Emeritus, St. James ChurchMary Moore Gaines is the Rector Emeritus of St. James Church. She served on the Boards of the Community Learning Center and the St. James Preschool. She has been a visionary leader of San Francisco Village from the beginning. Throughout her long ministry, Mary Moore has championed older adults who want to stay in their homes as they age. She has expanded her vision beyond the church to serve older adults and their families in all of San Francisco. Gloria Cavanaugh, Retired CEO of the American Society on Aging, ConsultantGloria's extensive and unparalleled experience as CEO and President of the San Francisco-based American Society on Aging (ASA) will benefit SFV tremendously. Throughout her career, Gloria has been devoted to the field of aging and has championed education, training and diversity. As President of the ASA, she steered the organization toward inclusivity by having it accept and embrace difference, and by putting ethnic and minority concerns front and center. As a consultant in her eponymous practice, her clients have included AARP, CogniFit, Mind Fitness Solutions and the Institute on Aging (IOA). In addition to being involved in a number of nonprofit organizations, Gloria has been a delegate for the last four White House Conferences on Aging. Jack Herndon, MBA – Managing Partner – Sage Eldercare Solutions, LLCJack brings the skills and enthusiasm to enhance Sage Eldercare’s operations and marketing. Prior to joining Sage, Jack developed operations within a number of technology and service-related businesses in the US, UK and France. Jack follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, George Kellogg, who founded and ran Homemaker Upjohn, a network of home care services across the New York metropolitan area. Jim Kimzey, MBA – President, Tender Rose Home CareJim is President and Founder of Tender Rose Home Care, a company that specializes in providing in-home care to people living with Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia. He is also creator of the Alzheimer's Tool Box, a popular web site that provides a collection of free tools to help family caregivers take care of their loved ones at home. Before starting Tender Rose, he had over 20 years of health care experience educating physicians, nurses, and other caregivers on how to use new technologies for diagnosis and treatment of disease and to enhance patient safety. Jim has worked with industry-leading companies including McKesson, Varian Medical Systems, Fluential, and Chiron Diagnostics. Jim holds a B.A. in economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Judy McCarthy Langley – Community OrganizerJudy is a graduate of the Program in Gerontology from San Francisco State University. She was drawn to the gerontology program to learn more about the challenges people face as they age. Judy's impressive career in the nonprofit world includes leadership positions in the Friends of Webster Street Historic District, the Foundation for Northern California Presbyterian Homes & Services, AIDS Resources, Information & Services of Santa Clara County, and Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo Counties. In addition to her volunteer activities for SF Village, Judy volunteers for a number of organizations, and is a founder and leader for Mission Bay Neighbors, her very own neighborhood. Claudia Lewis, JD – Attorney/Community OrganizerClaudia practiced litigation for over 15 years and was a partner at Farella Braun & Martel LLP. She previously served as the President of the San Francisco Women Lawyers Alliance. Currently she is Chair of the Board at the Community Learning Center at St. James and President of Richmond Presidio Neighbors, and is very involved in addressing quality of life issues for Richmond District residents, particularly its children and older adults. Jo Ann Madigan – Nonprofit ConsultantJo Ann's extensive experience has been managing nonprofit social justice, women's and health programs; advocacy and coalition building; program planning, grant writing, and contract management. She is devoted to public education and social marketing for issues that impact all of our lives, specifically health and aging. Before establishing her consulting practice, Jo Ann had leadership roles in organizations such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in SF, Education Programs Associates (EPA) in Campbell, and the Center for Municipal Occupation Safety and Health San Francisco General Hospital. Jo Ann's community experience is extensive as is her writing for publications on medical services, health and well being. Jeff Maltz, MBAJeff is the CEO of SilverRide, LLC, a company he co-founded with Susan Steiner Saal in 2006. SilverRide specializes in helping older adults achieve freedom and independence with its assisted transportation, companionship, and socialization services. To date, SilverRide has serviced over 25,000 trips for its over 500 members in the San Francisco Bay Area. SilverRide prides itself on championing the cause for senior mobility and works with various organizations both public and private to make sure an ecosystem of transportation options exists to meet the needs of the needy, exploding senior population. Prior to founding SilverRide, Jeff was a former sales executive and management consultant with Texas Instruments and Accenture respectively, and currently serves on the Board of the Jewish Federation. He holds a B.A. in English Literature and a B.S. in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. Susan Poor, MPH – Principal, Susan Poor Consulting Susan is a Senior Policy Advisor with NCB Capital Impact and Principal of Susan Poor Consulting, bringing over 25 years experience in health care policy, planning, and administration to her work in community approaches to aging. Areas of expertise include long term supports and services for older adults, the Village model, family caregiving, care management and coordination, transitional care, end-of-life care, civic engagement, Medicare, and Medicaid. Susan is a Founder and Board Member of San Francisco Village, Co-Chair of the San Francisco Long Term Care Coordinating Council, a member of the San Francisco Network for End-of-Life Care, the West Coast Director of Outreach and Volunteers for Share The Care, and an affiliate consultant with Community Strengths. Stephen L. TaberStephen has practiced law since 1976, focusing on public agencies, nonprofit organizations, housing development and public finance. Mr. Taber's broad experience in the financing of public and nonprofit projects includes an emphasis on multifamily housing, health facilities, senior care and housing, education, public infrastructure and mass transit. He has served as counsel to numerous nonprofit corporations and as a volunteer on the following Boards: Old First Presbyterian Church, Old First Concerts, Front Porch Communities (senior housing and care), Market Street Railway, California Historical Society, San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR), Art Space Development Corporation, TFCC-America. |
