Dear SF Village Community:
This communication is personally difficult, as I’m writing to inform you that I will soon be taking a temporary leave of absence due to a recurrence of cancer.
It is a pleasure to work with each of you, and I take great pride in the accomplishments that we've realized together since my joining the organization 9 months ago. Our Board of Directors and I are committed to fulfilling our promises to you and continuing progress and service to our partners, funders, members and volunteers. Towards this goal, our Board of Directors and I are currently working to finalize a transition plan, and I will be back in touch shortly with further details. At this point, I expect to begin taking some personal time away from the office in March 2011.
I love serving as Executive Director of San Francisco Village, am deeply committed to the organization's mission and vision, and take my leadership role and responsibility as Executive Director very seriously. It is my honor and privilege to continue leading San Francisco Village as Executive Director, and my leave of absence is only a bump in the road. I have every confidence that San Francisco Village will continue its forward momentum towards its vision for better aging in community as planned.
Thank you for your support and encouragement during this time. Please do not hesitate to address any questions or concerns directly to me or to SFV Board President, Gayle Geary: gayle.geary@gmail.com
Due to the sensitive nature of my situation, I would like to request that you withhold questions related to my medical condition as this is very painful and difficult for me.
With much appreciation, Christabel
