Mary Moore Gaines – President, Rector, St. James ChurchMary Moore Gaines is the Rector of St. James Church, on the Boards of the Community Learning Center and the St. James Preschool, and has been a visionary leader for San Francisco Village-Northside from the beginning. Throughout her long ministry, Mary Moore has always championed older adults who want to stay in their homes as they age. She seeks to expand her vision beyond the church, by serving older adults in the broader Richmond District and surrounding neighborhoods. Judy Spain – Vice President, Education AdministratorJudy is an active retiree from the University of Wisconsin system, where she worked in Student Services for 30 years. She currently serves as the Campaign Manager for the capital campaign for the Community Center at St. James. Eva Auchincloss – SecretaryEva Auchincloss was the founding Executive Director of the Women's Sports Foundation which was primarily responsible for the enforcement of the Equal Education Act of 1972 as it applied to sports for women. Among her other service to non-profit organizations she is the past Chair of the Board of San Francisco's International Diplomacy Center, Life Plan Center and the Presidio School of Management. Duff Axsom – Treasurer, Nonprofit ConsultantDuff has spent more than 20 years developing and managing Bay Area and national nonprofit agencies. He has focused his work in organizational development, nonprofit management and the fund development profession. He currently serves on professional and community-based boards, including the Community Learning Center at St. James, Development Executives Roundtable and the San Francisco Center for the Book. Aurèle Carlat – Health/Aging ConsultantAurèle brings extensive experience in the healthcare industry to SFVN. She has held executive positions with UBH, a United Healthcare Company, Stanford University Medical Center, and Peabody Consulting. She recently retired from the Board of Directors of VSP, one of the largest vision care companies in the US and has also served on the Boards of Hospice by the Bay, Women Healthcare Executives and The San Francisco School. She has a longstanding interest in issue of aging and end of life care and has been a volunteer caregiver with The Zen Hospice Project. Aurèle is a trained yoga instructor in the Iyengar tradition. Her commitment to healthy aging includes an active personal practice and teaching older adults. Lynne Fox – Merchandising ConsultantLynne began her career at Macy’s thirty years ago. Today she is a consultant to multi-channel Catalog companies. Lynne is also a highly successful leader of non-profit events. She was the first chair of “Race for the Cure” and the first co-chair of University High School’s Decorator Gayle Geary – Marketing ConsultantGayle has more than 25 years experience in marketing, marketing research and advertising. Gayle has directed strategic planning for a multitude of clients including Fisher-Price, the San Francisco Chronicle, Fetzer Vineyards, Morrison & Foerster, Fireman's Fund, Delta Dental for AARP and McRoskey Mattress Company. Her non-profit affiliations include the Math inquiries Project, Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco, Women's Initiative for Self-Employment and, most recently, San Francisco Village-Northside. She is a volunteer with the Jewish Healing Center, a partner of the Institute on Aging. Jack Herndon, MBA, Managing Partner – Sage Eldercare Solutions, LLCJack brings the skills and enthusiasm to enhance Sage Eldercare’s operations and marketing. Prior to joining Sage, Jack developed operations within a number of technology and service-related businesses in the US, UK and France. Jack follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, George Kellogg, who founded and ran Homemaker Upjohn, a network of home care services across the New York metropolitan area. Jude Lange, Partner – Global Wine Solutions, Inc.Jude is a Bay Area entrepreneur who has been featured on the cover of Forbes Magazine. She is the founder of several successful companies, including The Learning Company, Crystal Dynamics, and Caps and Fitniks. She is a Co-Founder of the Senior Day Care Center Association in Palo Alto, California. Claudia Lewis, JD, Attorney/Community OrganizerClaudia practiced litigation for over 15 years and was a partner at Farella Braun & Martel LLP. She previously served as the President of the San Francisco Women Lawyers Alliance. Currently she is Chair of the Board at the Community Learning Center at St. James and President of Richmond Presidio Neighbors, and is very involved in addressing quality of life issues for Richmond District residents, particularly its children and older adults. Kay Parekh, MBA, MEd, Marketing Professional and CounselorKay has over 10 years experience in strategic planning and market research primarily in the financial services industry, including Chase Manhattan Bank and Bank of America. She has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and most recently has worked with dementia affected patients at the Institute on Aging for the past 18 months. Currently she serves on the board of Florence Crittendon Services. Carolyn Pon – Managing Principal, ICS Concord Systems, LLCCarolyn specializes in operations analysis and redesign, sales operations, and project management. She has assisted clients in delivering virtual services in North America and Asia; supported the development of a web presence for the International Museum of Women; and assisted small businesses develop marketing plans. She has held previous positions as International Field Operations Manager for Octel Communications; General Manager, Japan, at Lucent Technologies; and Director of Sales Operations at Vina Technologies. Gladys Thacher – Nonprofit Founder/OrganizerGlady has over 40 years experience in non-profit organizing and fundraising, focusing on public education, career/life transitions and empowerment of women. She has successfully founded four San Francisco organizations: Enterprise for High School Students, Alumnae Resources, The San Francisco Education Fund and Life Plan Center. San Francisco Village-Northside is her latest endeavor to which she offers remarkable insight and experience. Currently Glady is a trustee of the San Francisco Foundation. Susan Poor – Village Consultant/ Executive DirectorSusan Poor, MPH, is a public health and aging services specialist with over 25 years experience in health care policy, planning, and community health. Her current professional focus is on services, programs, policies, and innovations/best practices for older adults and their caregivers who wish to remain in their homes and communities as they age. Susan is a member of the San Francisco Long Term Care Coordinating Council, an Advisory Board Member of the San Francisco Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network collaboration, a Steering Committee Member of the San Francisco Network for End-of-Life Care, and the West Coast Director of Outreach and Volunteers for Share The Care. |
